About the Hendrickson Method of Orthopedic Massage
Orthopedic massage is a deeply relaxing, pain-free treatment that can enhance the performance of dancers, athletes and anyone wishing to achieve optimum health. Pam and Candace are both trained to assess orthopedic conditions to determine the source of the pain, rather than just the symptoms. Most pain in the body is in the musculoskeletal system (muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints). Our muscles, tendons and ligaments are composed of fibers that are designed to slide freely relative to each other when healthy. After injury or cumulative stress, these fibers stick together. This is not only painful, but it limits motion in both the soft tissue and the joint. The limited motion can cause degeneration and a decrease in function. The Hendrickson Method combines massage strokes, neuromuscular reeducation and joint mobilization to eliminate adhesions and restore normal function in the soft tissue. Superb clinical results are achieved with a gentle, nurturing massage.

Rolfing

Rolfing® is an original and scientifically validated system of body restructuring and movement education. By contacting and adjusting the system of fascia, tension is released in the tissue and the body gets rebalanced and realigned with the earth’s gravitational field. This balance in the field of gravity is achieved by bringing segments of the body (head, neck, torso, pelvis, legs and feet) into a more structurally organized relationship with one another.  The result can be more vitality and energy, more ease in deeper breathing, increased flexibility, relief from pain, better coordination, and the experience of greater physical and emotional balance.

Bettina Schneider is a Certified Rolfer and Rolf Movement Practitioner, as well as a CMT, specializing in Swedish, Deep Tissue Massage, Shiatsu & Trigger Point Therapy. She got into bodywork in 2001 and was certified by the Rolf Institute in Boulder Colorado. Her live long interest and studies in various healing modalities gave her a profound understanding of the body-mind connection, which enable her to create unique, holistic healing strategies. She honors the individual goals of her clients and makes it her first priority to custom tailor her sessions to their specific needs. For Bettina, healing is a life long journey and she believes that we all have endless potential to continuously change and improve our current condition. She strongly believes in the body's innate intelligence and the interconnectedness of the body, mind & spirit; and that the body can and will heal itself, if the right opportunities and circumstances are given.
